Outstanding advice! I was introduced to fartleks by a conditioning coach in college and even as a sheriff's deputy continued to use it occasionally.

Pushups and pullups are pretty much 80% of my upper body workout through the week. I used to lift heavier, but now I feel better and have more endurance and flexibility. The only thing I miss is heavier squats. Never heard of fartleks before! Will give them a try!

Yeah a lot can be done with just push-ups and pull-ups. Endurance and flexibility are nice things to have especially as we get older.
