AF Pararescue guys hit pull ups when crossing the quad for any reason, i.e., staggered throughout the day. Good idea re Youtube/Odysee and nice Team Merica clip.

Yep. If they find this training approach valuable why can’t we? Thank you.

As someone who is new to this work-out world, I like the idea of micro-workouts and keeping it simple!

I'm glad Nina. Yeah some use what's called, "Grease the Groove" to achieve higher difficulty moves and it follows a similar approach. Treat strength/fitness as a skill and so practice that skill throughout the day to get better.

I can do one legged squats in my dreams now so that's progress. My daughter can do them but has trouble with her balance doing repetitions. I carry a 25 lb. professional stand-mixer up and down a flight of 15 steps but lately going down the steps with that load has been wrecking my ribs and the middle of my back on my right side. Going up the stairs is no problem so I'm thinking it has something to do with the impact of the weight going down the steps which are pretty steep. I don't know if I'm just getting too old or if there's something I can do to help this. I'm up and down those stairs about 15 times a shift and my knees start feeling it to where I dread going back down those stairs.

Going down hill/stairs too much can affect the knees...even mine.

I recall I was with a group of marines(/boat school classmates) who went up Mount Fuji in 2017. After we reached the top and started going back down some in the group were walking fast and I tried to take my time as much as I could. The fast walkers half way down were like, "Oh man my knees hurt."

For knee pain, other than rest, something like glute bridges or backwards walking can help. I used one legged squats too much when I first started and throwing in some bridge work helped to fix some of the pain in my knee.

Top stuff and thank you for the extra exercise ideas. I tend to neglect my legs a fair bit, but I do cardio (running or hill walking 30 mins) twice per week.

I also noticed something else...

HE GROUNDIN'!

Thanks J.P.

If I had hills here I'd do the same. Where I'm at in Texas it's pretty flat. So flat some would say that you could see your dog running away and still be able to see them on the third day. Corny joke but cracked me up the first time I heard it.

Lol yep. Trying to knock out two birds with one stone.

There are some great ideas here that I'll try tomorrow. I need to think of a good substitute for rings as I don't know of any around here. Thanks.

My pleasure Mark. Rings are nice to have I bought mine off of Amazon a few years ago. The only other alternative I know of is the TRX.

But here's a guy I've been following for a bit that made his own. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DHtK86WxNI
